Makeup Programs


Delmar College is a proud partner with MAKE UP FOR EVER. Course includes a full student kit featuring a variety of products from this industry leader.
Learn the theory side to colour; how to use it and mix it, the face, and it’s features, corrective makeup techniques, products and tools, eyebrow cleanup and correction, bridal makeup techniques, and skin typing.
On the practical side learn application techniques for daytime makeup, evening makeup including smoky eye, bridal and special occasion application.
Makeup 101 also includes Infection Prevention Control certification for makeup artistry.

Program length: 64 hours, run Monday to Wednesday evenings from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

MAKEUP 102 - Advanced Makeup

Take your makeup artistry skills to the next level in our Makeup 102 certificate program. 
Learn and practice advanced eye makeup techniques, advanced contouring and highlighting, camouflage makeup, ethnic bridal techniques, theatrical and fantasy, as well as basic hairstyling techniques for upstyling and using hot tools. 
Makeup 102 includes a student kit filled with styling tools and makeup from MAKE UP FOR EVER.

MAKEUP 103 - Airbrush Makeup: Face & Body

Receive hands on experience in a number of airbrushing techniques for body art, temporary tattoos, stenciling, and facial makeup application. Student kit includes professional hand piece and compressor, as well as a variety of airbrush makeup products.

MAKEUP 104 - Special Effects & Character Development

Makeup 104 teaches the SPFX of character makeup/design, costume breakdown/detailing and airbrushing. Students will have the opportunity to design a full character makeup from start to finish, and learn about airbrush and makeup techniques for haunt and theatre makeup. This class is for those who want to pursue a career is SPFX makeup and beyond.
Character makeup covers the techniques of the application of prosthetics, aging makeup, burn makeup, and working with transfers.
Costume Breakdown will cover breakdown techniques and natural aging, as well as more extreme forms of breakdown such as: painting, blood, special effects, sanding, washing, and grunge/dirt effects.
